The BetterBusiness Bureau of Southeast Texas is proud to announce that our eleventh “ShredIt & Forget It!” set a new all-time record! 467 vehicles were served and over 46,000pounds of shredded documents were collected! For eleven events, this putsthe BBB in Southeast Texas at a grand total of 3711 vehicles served and 277,000pounds collected!
Theevent, which was held on Saturday, September 10, 2011, on the Parkdale Mallparking lot, was an effort to reduce identity theft. The BBB thanks Shred-It,MCT Credit Union, Bill Clark Pest Control, Beaumont Coca-Cola, Chick-fil-A—ParkdaleMall, West Brook High School Key Club, Legacy Christian Academy Key Club, LamarUniversity’s Rotaract, ClearChannel Radio, and ParkdaleMall for their help in making this event possible.
”Shred It & Forget It!” will be available to consumersin Southeast Texas twice a year; Central Mall in the spring and Parkdale Mallin the fall. The BBB continues tostress the importance to shred your confidential documents; when improperlydisposed of, it can lead to identity theft.
